2023 Monday Academy District Information
The South Shelby School District will be offering Monday Academy as an optional resource for the 2023-2024 school year. Monday Academy is a program designed to help students who are struggling academically. It is offered on Monday by invitation to students who need remediation and additional help in specific subject areas. Students are invited to participate based on scoring below grade level benchmarks on district assessments and/or scoring below basic on Missouri State testing. Parents may also fill out an application for their child to attend Monday Academy. The purpose of this application is to allow parents to request the district to research their child's achievement data. This will be used to evaluate if Monday Academy would be beneficial for their child. Each student's data will be reviewed and discussed with a team of teachers, administration and the parents to gauge qualification into the Academy. The first semester Monday Academy enrollment will be based on the previous year’s academic performance data. Parents will be notified by the school if their child is eligible for Monday Academy. If you would like to request your child attend Monday Academy, please fill out all the information on the appropriate referral form electronically OR fill out a printable referral form and turn it in to your child's main office.

Breakfast and Lunch will be served each Monday. You can look on the school lunch calendar to see what will be served that day. Students are welcome to bring their lunch from home if they wish.
We will provide bus transportation to those families indicating that they would need this service. Shuttle buses will be run to Shelbina and Clarence with pick-ups and drop-offs at the old elementary school buildings for students living in town. Buses will run rural routes to students living outside of town as needed.
