What is your favorite High School Memory? Going out for extracurriculars I'd never tried senior year
What class in High School do you/did you enjoy the most? Civics
If you had one wish what would it be? Full ride tuition.
Who do you admire the most and why? Kanye West because he's Kanye West.
What teacher had the biggest influence on you and why? Mrs. Wilcox because she's my mom
What is the one thing you will miss most about South Shelby? Small class sizes.


Archers completed in the South Shelby Tournament 2 Monday and Tuesday. High School made a state qualifying of 3290 as did the Middle School with 3067.



Archery individual state qualifiers include: Gabe Bowen, Caden Stevenson, Peyson Larrick, Kale McElhoe, Harlie Fuller, and Charlie Roush. Way to go Cardinals!

Senior Spotlight: Somer Gill

What you your plans for next year? I will be attending University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg and pursuing a degree in early education as well as psychology.
What is the favorite activity to do with your family? My favorite thing to do with my family is travel and travel and make memories doing new things. I also love going boating in the summertime and spending all day on the lake.
What School Activities are you involved in? Softball, Football Cheer, Track, FFA, FCCLA, FBLA, NHS, Student Council, Environmental Club
What is your favorite High School Memory? I don’t know if I have a single favorite memory but I think my favorite in general was all the laughs and deep discussions we had in Coach Wilt’s senior year.
What class in High School do you/did you enjoy the most? Coach Wilt's online classes and being his secretary
If you had one wish what would it be? If I had one wish it would be to be to accomplish everything on my bucket list before I die.
Who do you admire the most and why? I admire my dad the most. He has always taught me to be true to what I believe in and not let others take advantage of my kind heart. He had also taught me things in life are earned not given and if I want something I have to go out and get it.
What teacher had the biggest influence on you and why? Mr Scmidt had the biggest influence on me because he has always been there to catch me when I fall. Whether it is telling me what I don’t want to admit and giving me advice. Or the many times he was there to listen to me rant and even been there to let me just sit in his room and cry it out. He is one of the reasons I have decided to pursue teaching because I want to help kids and be there for them like he was always there for me.
What is the one thing you will miss most about South Shelby? I will miss the amazing teachers and staff and people who have been there to help support me throughout the years.

Greenhand and Chapter Degree



Congratulations to the South Shelby FFA members who earned Chapter Degree Awards this evening.







The South Shelby Ladybirds are excited to announce a late season Valentines special. The Ladybirds will take on the Fatima Comets on Wednesday, February 14th, starting at 5:30 at Columbia Hickman High School. This will replace the game that was canceled with Van-Far.

We had a great FFA Greenhand Ceremony this evening. Congratulations to those who earned this honor.











Senior Spotlight: Kayl Gough

Kayl's plan after high school is to attend college and begin to obtain a Bachelor of Science of Nursing
Kayl's favorite activity to do with his family is playing games and going on trips.
Kayl is involved in Band, Student Council, FCCLA, NHS, Choir, and Musical Theater.
Kayl's favorite high school memory is participating in Marching Band competitions.
Kayl's enjoyed Coach Resa's math classes the most in High School.
The teacher that had the biggest influence on Kayl is Mrs. Lisa Stevenson because she was always ready to get work done, but she always threw some fun into the mix.
What is the one thing you will miss most about South Shelby? Kayl will miss the community and the support that South Shelby has offered.


Congrats to both archery teams for make state qualifying scores: HS made 3284 and MS 3037. HS placed 1st and MS placed 5th. Way to go Cardinals.

When his bus kids asked him to get his face painted for the Super Bowl, Mr. Poore gave the kiddos what they wanted. Go Chiefs!
