Congratulations to Crayton Schwieter for winning Area 3 FFA Star in Agribusiness last night!
Crayton’s agribusiness projects include horse training for clients, horse work and buying and selling horses after providing additional training and skills. His application will now move on to the state level to be judged and we will find out results at State FFA Convention in April!

What you your plans for next year? I plan on attending UMKC in the fall and pursue a career in Dental Hygiene
What is the favorite activity to do with your family? My favorite activity is playing card or boards games with my parents.
What School Activities are you involved in? I am currently involved in Environmental Club, STUCO, NHS and FFA
What is your favorite High School Memory?All of the holiday parties we have thrown in Mr. Hillards classroom
What class in High School do you/did you enjoy the most? I enjoy anatomy with Mr. Hillard but I also enjoy taking online classes and being in Mr. Wilts room, it’s always a good time in there.
If you had one wish what would it be? I would wish to have a lot of money
Who do you admire the most and why? I admire both of my parents because they have both taught me so many useful life lesson and growing up they always loved me unconditionally.
What teacher had the biggest influence on you and why? Mrs. Gough had the biggest influence on me because she showed me what it was like to have fun at school and that school could be an enjoyable environment.
What is the one thing you will miss most about South Shelby? I will miss all of the friendships I have created over these past years.

Congratulations to Kendal Hammond on signing to play football at Truman State University.



The featured artist for third quarter is Alma Thomas. Ms. Thomas used bright dashes of color in her paintings. Students were able to try out her style while also learning about her life. Alma Thomas is an example of working hard to achieve your dreams, even when faced with great adversity.











First grade and third grade had the highest attendance percentage for first semester. Recently, they got to celebrate with a pizza party!

What you your plans for next year? I plan to run Track at Columbia College and go to school to become a Physical Therapist.
What is the favorite activity to do with your family? Watch Mizzou sporting events.
What School Activities are you involved in? Track, Basketball, Softball, President of the Senior Class, VP of STUCCO, VP of NHS, and a member of Environmental Club, FCCLA, FFA, FCA, and Yearbook.
What is your favorite High School Memory? Growing up seeing high school kids, I thought they were rock stars in sports so finally getting to interact with the elementary kids and make them feel special like I wanted to is my favorite!
What class in High School do you/did you enjoy the most? Civics because you get to learn about topics that are happening right now in the US and how the past politicians decisions affect us.
If you had one wish what would it be? Ban Abortion
Who do you admire the most and why? For me I have a lot of important women in my life... Maria Eagan, Audra Wilt, Wendy Roetemeyer, Susan Wilt and my grandma Donna Mitchell. I say this because I have grown up with these women along with my mother as amazing role models. All of which are not only kind but so selfless and always think of others. They are so supportive in the community and do so much for people around them! When I think of the woman I want to be in the future they all come to mind as an amazing mother, community member and friend.
What teacher had the biggest influence on you and why? My Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Schmitz and First Grade teacher Mrs. Dimmitt, because they always showed so much patience and kindness. To this day they check in, see how I am doing, support me in any way possible and wish me the best in life!
What is the one thing you will miss most about South Shelby? The family I have built here. My teachers, coaches, teammates, classmates and community. Growing up at this high school I will miss South Shelby for a lot more than just one reason.
