Shelby County Sheriff's Office instructed a CPR class for health students at South Shelby High School.





We had some incredible artists compete at the CCC Art Show today at Truman State University! To say these kids are extremely talented and did an amazing job is an understatement. We are so proud of them! Thank you Mr. Bowen for driving us there and spending the day with us!

Biology class putting into scale how old the Earth is and when certain types of life showed up on a big timeline.



Just how important is it to write explicit directions? Just ask Aiden and Everett. Aiden left out the step where the bread should be removed from the wrapper. This resulted in the pb&j being spread on the bread IN the wrapper🤣. Mr. Ratliff wrote...spread the jelly on the bread...but forgot to mention something about a knife! Lots of fun in General Studies today. 😜🤪😋



Students synergized as they wrote different types of Easter stories today.






The baseball games scheduled for tonight will be made up tomorrow night starting with Varisty at 6:00 PM. JV Game to follow. This will allow the FFA Greenhands and Degree earners to attend the ceremony before the JV Game.
The Clark County Track meet postponed today will be made up on April 19th.

Due to the impending severe weather, tonight game vs Atlanta has been postponed.

South Shelby Middle School Scholar Bowl is headed to NATIONALS! This team spent many hours practicing and working to accomplish this achievement. CONGRATULATIONS, gentlemen!


Career Development Class presented their Food Trucks to a group of shark investors today.

Senior Spotlight: Gracie Durbin
Gracie Durbin, will be a 2023 graduate of South Shelby High School, is the daughter of Patrick and DeAnna McGilvary. She is the sister of Katie, Emily, and Miranda.
My favorite activity to do with your family: Hanging out when we I get to visit them
.My Favorite Childhood memory: being student of the month in Kindergarten
Activitie involved in: FFA, FBLA, STUCO, Cheerleading, Environmental Club
The activity that you enjoy the most is Cheerleading and FFA because in cheer I made what feels like a lifetime of memories with the girls over the course of a few years. In FFA I learned so many life lessons and how to be a leader.
My favorite High School Memory is going to National Convention my freshman year.
The class that you enjoyed the most is AP Biology with Mr. Hillard because I love how he teaches and how we all had fun while learning about such a hard topic.
Outside of school, I enjoy seeing friends and working
After High School, I plan to attend the State Technical College of Missouri where I will will study dental.
The person I admire the most is my Grandma because she is the most selfless and kind person I have ever met. I am so fortunate to have her.
The teacher that had the most influence on me is Mrs.Wilcox because I aspire to have her selflessness and patience while dealing with people.
The one thing I will miss most about South Shelby High School is the memories and friends that I have made over the years.


SSMS Girls got 2nd at the Westran Track Meet. Way to go ladies!










This future teacher got to help lead guidance class today as part of her career project. She did a great job getting to know students and planning activities. The students loved having her!





The following students represented South Shelby Middle School at the Northeast Missouri 6th Grade Honor Choir performance on April 3rd:

The choir was made up of 258 6th Grade students from 19 schools. They rehearsed all afternoon on April 3rd, and performed a concert that evening at the MACC Activities Building.
