SSMS Girls got 2nd at the Westran Track Meet. Way to go ladies!
This future teacher got to help lead guidance class today as part of her career project. She did a great job getting to know students and planning activities. The students loved having her!

The choir was made up of 258 6th Grade students from 19 schools. They rehearsed all afternoon on April 3rd, and performed a concert that evening at the MACC Activities Building.

Isaac Wilcox competed in the Individual Player National Championship for Scholar Bowl this weekend in Chicago. He placed 95th out of 200 competitors.
8th grade reviewing the elements of fiction by reading The Monkey's Paw by W.W. Jacobs. This story is horror genre which focuses on foreshadowing, imagery and the role of dialogue to create suspense.
After losing in extra-innings to Knox County, the Cardinals bounce back to win big over Clopton. South Shelby finishes 3rd in the first annual home baseball tournament.
SSHS Concert Band did an amazing job at the Chicago Heritage Festival.

These 8th grade science students received special treats for earning a 100% or higher on their science test.

Seventh-grade Reading classes started Julie of the Wolves. They were able to see a parka with a polar bear ruff, a walrus tusk with scrimshaw, and a bow head whale's ear, among many other things.
