South Shelby Golf shot a season low 172 at Norwood’s GC in Hannibal today to beat Bowling Green and Louisiana but Hannibal shot a 158 to win the meet. Cason Glover with the low score for SS with a 40. Great night for SS!

5th Grade Recorder Karate is in full swing! We started playing recorders about 3 weeks ago. As a class we learn progressively more difficult songs in a method book that teaches new concepts through the songs. Students can take individual or group playing "quizzes" over each song once we learn it in class. When they pass their quiz by showing mastery of the concepts learned in the song, they get a "belt". Once they reach Black Belt, they get to choose a prize and receive a certificate of achievement! I'm proud to say that everyone is now on the board, and working very hard (coming in before and after school, and during the day if they have a chance) to pass their quizzes!
After learning about food webs, we discussed a forest food chain. We deepened our level of understanding by dissecting owl pellets!
