2024 Elementary Open House
Community partners came to Open House to share various resources with families.
The Lady Birds completed their first week of softball practices & are excited for the season! They had their traditional themed Friday morning practice. Today was 'Anything But A Bat'. They had a fun scrimmage at the end of practice where their untraditional bats were used.
Congratulations to our 2024 American FFA Degree recipients! This is the highest honor and these kids have worked so hard!

The Shelby County R-IV School District would like to welcome Toni Hansen. Toni will be working a a Custodian in the buildings. Toni is from Wyoming originally. She has 3 children and 1 bonus child. Toni enjoys art, equestrianism and etymology in her free time. Toni is excited to have been apart and continue to be a Cardinal.
The Shelby County R-IV School District would like to welcome Wes Mefford. Wes is South Shelby High School alumni and he glad to be back in the district working. Wes is married to Kaytlyn and they have 1 son Tucker. Tucker is the biggest joy in their lives. Wes enjoys playing golf and hunting. Particularly deer hunting. Wes is looking forward to serving another year as the IT director at Shelby County R-IV Schools.
The Shelby County R-IV School District would like to welcome Geoffery Giles. Geoffery will be working at South Shelby Middle School as a Social Studies/Geography Teacher along with other Coaching duties. Geoffery was raised in Pleasant Hill, Illinois and attended Westminister College. He enjoys watching sports and has two other siblings. Geoffery is super excited to be joining the Cardinal Family!!
South Shelby High School Week Ahead
The Shelby County R-IV School District would like to welcome Maranda Ziebarth! Maranda is a longtime employee of the school district and will be transitioning to the South Shelby High School secretary position. Over the past 14 years, Maranda has served the district as a custodian, paraprofessional and as a secretary.
The Shelby County R-IV School District would like to welcome Katelynn Dowell! Katelynn will be working in the South Shelby Elementary Building as a paraprofessional. Katelynn is the oldest of 8 children. She is married with a 3 year old son and currently fosters a 4 year old girl. She has worked directly serving others since she was 16 years old. Kate graduated from South Shelby and is excited to be back in the district working. When she has spare time she enjoys reading, writing, watching sports and doing crafts.
The Shelby County R-IV School District would like to welcome Georgia Roush! Georgia will be working in the South Shelby Elementary Building as a paraprofessional. Georgia is a South Shelby and Moberly Area Community College graduate. Georgia subbed as an aide last school year. Georgia is excited to learn and gain knowledge from everyone at South Shelby.
