Great work by the 2025 South Shelby Ladybird softball team for qualifying as a team for Academic All - State. The team had to have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better during the fall semester.
Also, congratulations to the individual girls who qualified for Academic All State with a GPA of 3.7 or above during the fall semester.

Congratulations to Allison Broughton and Sophia Coon who were recently selected to perform with the Northeast MO Junior High All-District Honor Band! The all day rehearsal and evening performance was held on February 21 at Macon High School.

Lots of fun things happening this winter in elementary music! 3rd & 4th grade have had rhythm snowball fights, 1st grade used boomwhackers to show melodic direction, and PreK "built" a snowman to the song, "I Made a Snowman."

What are your plans for next year?
My plans for next year is too go to Missouri Valley College where I will be majoring in Health and Behavioral Science and minoring in Exercise Science.
What School Activities are you involved in?
I am involved in FCCLA, FBLA, FCA, and varsity football and basketball cheer.
What is your favorite High School Memory?
My Favorite High school Memory is when I got the All-American award for Cheer my Junior year and went to Hawaii to perform in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade.
What class in High School do you/did you enjoy the most?*
The class I enjoyed the most in High school was civics with Mr.Mitchell.
Who do you admire the most and why?
The person I admire the most is my mom Misty Kolars, she has always been there for me through thick and thin. She inspires me too be the best version of myself and encourages me to always do the best I can. She is such a great example of what a good christian mom and wife should be. I must say I wouldn't have grown into the person I am today without having such an amazing woman to be right there beside me that I could always depend on to lead me down the right path.
What teacher had the biggest influence on you and why?
I'd have to say that Mr. Hillard has had the biggest influence on me. He worked and spent time helping me to find the best way for me to learn and study. Ill always remember my productivity clipboard which had all my work for the week on it and he tied it to a string and hung it over my head like a lanyard so I wouldn't set it down somewhere and lose it. I may have been very very very very very very... close to pushing him over his limits a few times (basically everyday at 8 am) but I am grateful for his patience and understanding.
What is the one thing you will miss most about South Shelby?
I don't think I''ll miss anything South Shelby if I'm being honest.
