SSMS kids are learning how to sew and make a pillow.
The SSMS History classes held their mock trial yesterday while incorporating Science into it. It was AWESOME!!!

What class in High School do you/did you enjoy the most?
I would say i most enjoy my textiles class. Very hands on and its really good at proving examples on how to fix things. Like sewing on a button or how to fix a pillow. We also learn how much fast fashion can impact environment, I really like hearing that because people really do need to hear it and care about the environment because I care about the environment very much.
Who do you admire the most and why?
I would say I admire my mother the most. My mother has been my rock and my idol. She's always empowering me to do the things I most enjoy doing. Shes always telling me Im so good at everything I do and theres not one thing i would ever be bad at. My mother has been through it hard, she still does, but no matter what she always shows up for me, whethwer that be a concert, a speech, or even just to watch me cheer at a game. She has been both a mother and a best freind. I couldnt ask for a better person to admire in my life than her.
What teacher had the biggest influence on you and why?
Probably Mr. Mitchell. I would say hes one of the best teachers when it comes to caring about his students. He has always been there for me and helped through his classes. He made everything short and sweet and straight to the point with teaching, he made it easier for me to memorize things he used different techniques like writing short summaries and uses hand gestures so that I could remember things. He taught me to be good kid and pray and look forward to things in life. Thanks to him I can sight the entire 27 amendments by memory.
What is the one thing you will miss most about South Shelby?
The Teachers. Everyone of them has been most kind to me and helpful through all my years of attending of here. Im so greatful for my coaches as well on the cheer teams I've been on. They've empowered me and taught me not to care about what others think and say. Im my own person I need to worry about me and myself because thats whats its always gonna be
