Classes and activities are set to resume at Shelby County R-IV on Monday, January 24th. Our maintenance staff worked over the closure to clean and sanitize the buildings.
Our school calendar was approved with more than the maximum number of make up hours scheduled. Days missed due to inclement weather do not have to be made up. Days missed due to illness would have to be made up only if we miss too many total hours. One change we are making to the school calendar is changing February 11th from a Professional Development Day to a regular attendance day for students and staff. This is the only change we should need to make to modify our school calendar to account for days missed due to weather and/or illness. We are hopeful that this week's closure is the only one we will need to get us through the school year.
If students are not feeling well due to illness, they should stay home until they are symptom free without the aid of medication for at least 24 hours. Please contact your students building office to let them know in the event your student is home due to illness. Our staff will continue to work with all students to ensure they have all the information from class to keep them caught up. Thank you for your continued support. We are very much looking forward to having everyone back in school on Monday, January 24th.
